Parks, Gardens and Picnic spot, Lucknow, UP, India

Begum Hazratmahal Park, Lucknow- Begum Hazratmahal Park in Lucknow is today a walker’s favourite garden. It is named after  Begum Hazrat Mahal of Oudh who led her army into battle during the India's first war of independence during the year 1857. Even after she was defeated she defied Queen Victoria's famous Proclamation and issued a counter Proclamation.

With clean stone pathways that have been  interwoven into green landscaping, and lot of trees, benches, flowers and water fountains. When the fountains go up and the lights turn on in the evening, it’s a sight worth visiting. At the west direction, you may see the Murshidjadi ka Maqbara and Nawab Saadat Ali' s Tomb reminding us Awadh's past glory.
